The Color of the Year: Mocha Mousse
This rich brown will be a top shade in 2025. We’re already seeing it in Long Island beauty.
It’s that time of the year again when Pantone, the global color authority, names a color that will influence beauty, fashion, home design, etc., in the upcoming year. For 2025, it’s mocha mousse.
We can’t say we’re surprised. This fall brought a lot of foreshadowing with brown nails. It may sound blah compared to the shades of previous years, such as last year’s Peach Fuzz and 2023’s Viva Magenta. But this is not your basic brown. It’s a rich brown with reddish undertones that make it warm and luminous—not drab! In beauty, it translates to brunette shades mixed with warm red and caramel tones, lustrous brown nails, sultry lids, and nude brown lips.
I searched the LI Beauty Scene and found some examples of mocha mousse in hair, nails, and makeup by Long Island beauty professionals.
