In their remarkable debut at the Miss Long Island Pageant on January 13th, 2024, Katherine Wang and Alexis Ebanks made an impactful impression on the judges, even without prior pageantry experience. Their dynamic presence was undeniable.

Katherine Wang, the newly crowned Miss Long Island 2024 from East Setauket, left an indelible mark on the stage, captivating both the audience and judges alike. Overcoming competition from 21 other contestants, Wang, 25, expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am beyond honored and incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part in this experience. Our achievements are a collective effort, a result of the beliefs others had in me and the kindness extended along the way.”

With an impressive academic background, having attended Harvard College, Harvard Medical School with a master's degree in bioethics, and currently, Stony Brook University School of Medicine, Wang’s chosen platform, health literacy advocacy, emphasizes empowerment and collaborative understanding of health, both for individuals and their communities.

Meanwhile, Long Island's newly crowned teen queen, 17-year-old Alexis Ebanks from Centerport, a junior at Harborfields High School, delivered an outstanding performance that showcased not only her outer beauty but also the depth of her intelligence. A published author and certified Zumba® instructor, Ebanks’ platform, STRONG (Strength, Teamwork, Resilience, Optimism, Nutrition, and Growth), focuses on the crucial intersection of fitness and mental health.

“I am beyond excited for the upcoming year. Being the next Miss Long Island Teen is an extraordinary privilege,” says Ebanks.

Both queens are set to represent Long Island and will compete for the titles of Miss New York and Miss New York Teen USA 2024 in the forthcoming months.

As they embark on this incredible journey, their remarkable achievements are a testament to their dedication, promising a reign filled with continued success and positive community impact.
